Nice day for a ride around the Arlington Triangle with side trips to Arlington Cemetery to pay respects, Memorial Bridge and Hains Point for a speed lap, and the Maine Avenue Fish Market for a nice lunch. Stupid me forgot to turn the Garmin back on when leaving Shirlington and didn't notice it until we got to Arlington Cemetery so I "lost" 10 some miles on this ride along with the PRs I'm certain I had on that segment :( . After the ride, I swung by FreshBikes to discuss my continuing problem with the battery life on the Ultegra Di2 electronic shifting. Will have to bring it back when they have the Shimano diagnostics in from the other shop. Until then, I've got a "reserve" battery to carry with me to swap out if/when the battery craps out on me. Oy!

Took Shiksa out on this windy day for a slow ride to women-themed memorials in honor of Mother's Day. The crosswinds certainly do push the TT bike so I spent most of the time on the base bar and only a little time on the aerobars. Nice ride and had a nice lunch at Samuel Beckett's afterward. But I think I need to return Shiksa's Di2 battery and get a new one since this one reads at half charge and I've only ridden a few hundred miles and should be able to get several thousand miles out of a single charge. Hmmm...

Finally put the Speedplay X pedals on Ruby and went cruising around to test them out. Avoided most of the rain, did a few laps at Ft Hunt, stopped by Ben & Jerry's in Old Town and finished with dinner and drinks at Guapo's followed by more drinks at Capitol City Brew Pub. A nice little ride and I'm really liking the pedals. Let's see how I do when I first encounter some real hills and have to get the cleats to disconnect. Should be fun!!!
