NOVA-CBG Cherry Blossom Redux

Lovely morning for a casual ride to visit the cherry blossoms with the Meetup group, followed by a lovely lunch at Guapo's. Shiksa showed herself off, the little diva that she is. I think I'm really gonna like this new bike.

Shiksa and Me and the Cherry Blossoms

Rode Shiksa to work to show her off and so I could do some riding in the afternoon. Left work early to go see the blossoms at the Tidal Basin and Hains Point. Then had a nice ride home. The Shiv climbs better than I thought she would, probably because she's lighter, more aero, and my speed is faster coming into the uphills on rollers. Not too shabby.

VeloDCity Ft Dupont-Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens-Arboretum Ride

Nice easy (well, easy for VeloDCity) ride from Eastern Market to Ft Dupont, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, and the National Arboretum. Started off a bit chilly and by the end I will stripping down to just a short sleeved jersey and shorts. Lovely day, good company, and a really nice lunch at Molly Malone's to quench my appetite and my thirst.

TSR Talbot Bike Tour 50 (make that 34)

Got to take the new Shiv for its maiden voyage. Had a SNAFU about 3 miles in where chain just spun out in the small ring and did not make the bike move. Returned to the start to see the mechanic who couldn't find anything wrong with it. Luckily it did not recur but the Di2 front derailleur needs to be adjusted since I'm getting some severe chain rub as the chain moves down the cassette in the small ring. Wound up doing the 25 rather than the 50 because of the return and restart. All in all, it was pretty good. It's going to take some time to get used to riding on the aerobars and will probably need to have them raised up a tad and possibly adjust the seat back and a few other tweaks at my 20 April fit session. But she is fast and very cool looking. I'm looking forward to riding this sweet bike more during the season.
